So I did a cover of "At Last". I know its nowhere near Aretha's version but that's ok!!!! You can see it here and while you're there, you can subscribe to my channel and we can be YouTube friends as well!!

Also, I am done with the demo...it is a bare-bones acoustic version of some songs that I will use to lure in other musicians...hopefully it works......Anyway, if you guys want a copy just let me know and I'll be sending those out FOR FREE....but just to you guys!!!!! Allright so here is the bad news.......The recording that I did had some complications and is not going to be available like I thought it would......However, what came out of the recording is actually really neat. I learned so much (the hard way) and the ideas and creativity that were born out of that was tremendous. Problem is, I dont have anything to give to anybody yet....so here's what I've decided.
I am going to post videos of some of my songs.......this way, you will be able to listen and watch at the same time.....DOUBLE THE PLEASURE!!!!!

Then, as I start playing more and more shows, I will be posting those as well (First show of the summer was scheduled today...CHECK IT OUT ON MY MYSPACE LINK BELOW!!!)

I think that I will also start getting some live recordings on the space as well......
I will be moving more toward ReverbNation on Facebook....Ilike.com and that sort of thing during the summer as well.....so if your reading this and we are not friends on Facebook....Twitter....or Myspace..... yet.....MAKE IT HAPPEN!

So again, thank you guys so much for your support and understanding......and I think that its time that I start blowing out the effin speaks!!!!!!(as in, playing so loud and hard that the speakers blow---thats what she said)

Alrighty then.....So I am going to go ahead with the acoustical demo...even though it is pretty expensive....and hopefully by this fall, I can have some band/musical friends to record with me in the early fall so that I can have a more full sounding...band demo. I promise to put up videos of this summers shows......So stay happy all!!

Oh, the thread he will need to aquire....Strong enough to perform the tremendous task that lays ahead of it...yet capable of holding microscopic pieces of a once, whole heart, together without damaging.....

Oh, how steady his hand will need to be.....The inability to stray from the intended task.....to keep it from total collapse, to have the smoothness to accomplish the impossible under such extreme conditions.

Demo Update....Listening to....and some writing

I'm currently finishing up a song called "So Much better" and an instrumental to be put onto the demo recording....I've also decided to put "Ashes" onto the disk so I will have a total of 5 songs when finished....I am aiming at March to be completely done and ready to hand this thing out at shows during the Summer..so that's where that's at BOY-EEEEEEEEE!!!!

Hello FRIENDS......
I wanted to let you guys know what's going on with the demo that I'm doing.....I started recording on Dec. 3rd and had planned to come out with 3 songs.....while in the studio, I realized that I wanted to change some things with the songs and how they were presented..

The good news is that I'm getting the sound that I want.....the other good news is that I will be going back to record another tune that I'm currently writing...the bad news is that this means it may take awhile to get these out.

.......so in the meantime, please forgive me for wetting your appetite while dinner was still cooking..........We can still look forward to the midnight snack.....

Thankful for friends

For obvious reasons, I have been thinking about things that I am very thankful for lately......But here, I thought that I would thank the people who choose to follow my updates....Since there are only eight of you, I feel that this is do-able....here we go...

Brad--Brad is a drummer in Seattle. He plays in various bands around town and writes music also.....I have played with Brad before and he really seems like a "class-act". I'm sure he will excel in whatever he chooses to do.

Nathan--I had the pleasure of knowing Nathan for a short time...One of the most intelligent teenagers I've ever met.....I'm sure he will be somewhat wealthy...very soon...Funny too...

Fishbook--Amazing blog....This guy is a person after my own heart....Musician and Scientist...only he's probably a lot smarter than I am!!!

Steven Anthony---He has a few blogs.....Just a really good blogger....hits on basically all aspects of life...CAUTION---don't go to his food blog unless you want to get hungry!!!

Love,Love Melissa--She is a great writer...writes about some difficult things...I linked you to her TWITTER since she rarely updates her blog.

CINNIBONBON--Chick knows how to blog!!! I don't think she has ever commented on one of my blogs without pouring her heart out....completely! The passion for life that she holds is simply...amazing.

The Jerk---This cartoonist and animator is quite amazing. The creativity that comes across in his art is extraordinary...He writes his own comics....AND THEY'RE GOOOD!!!! Most of the time I find myself reading a newspapers comics section thinking...."The Jerk's comics are better than this!! Way better!"

Sally's Site--She draws amazing portraits of dogs....might sound weird...but it is strangely very cool...plus, she is an all around GREAT person and great commenter on this blog..

So there you have it!! So thankful for each one of you who takes time out of your life to pay just a little attention to what I'm doing in mine. So I got bumped from my scheduled recording session. From what I hear, until I sign with a Major, this tends to happen. Anyway, the new recording date is set for December 3rd.

I am actually really excited because I will be working with some very talented people in an amazing studio. Sort of nervous because I want it to sound....well....like I want it to.
I will have some video of the session also and will make that available. If anyone wishes to follow on Twitter...Myspace....or Facebook....It would definitely boost my ego...and maybe give you some laughs as well.

Current mood = National Lampoon-ish.

I am not easily blown away by newer artists....but I have to say I've been slapped in the junk by Owl City......this guy is amazing.....he writes songs with amazing M.I.L.F.'s..(Melodies I'd like to Fu^K)
I love the use of synthesized notes....unbelievable.
Listen to Fireflies and Meteor Shower to begin....from there, it doesn't really matter cause you will have already been hurricane'd into the haze of infatuation.

Twenty-Ten

I wonder if he felt that his destiny would come to fruition in the next couple of years, like I do? Was he scared like I am? Did he feel like a failure like I do so many times? Did he have any regrets?

I imagine him looking to the rest of his life thinking "Here I go", but maybe not as sure of himself as many think.
Maybe, just maybe, he was like me. Hesitant footsteps in the dark, hoping to feel the ground underneath, yet arms searching in the blackness for structure, trying their best to prevent total collapse.

Breathing in, breathing out.

One foot in front of the other, though no clear destination other than here.....

Someday and Random Thoughts

--Sometimes I wish I was someone else...topping the list lately = Brandon Boyd.

--Every now and then I fear that my life is slipping away from me...recently has been one of the "now" times.

--I'm apprehensive about meeting succesful musicians because I fear they will see me as a fan rather than a fellow artist.

--I love the fact that I fall asleep dreaming almost every night.

Had his beating heart and breathing lungs not been involuntary, they would have ceased due to a lack of desire to continue.
Where happiness and creativity once bloomed, now, only memories remained, written in sand, slowly being washed away with the tide.

500 Days of Summer and random thoughts

Saw the movie "500 Days of Summer" and I thought it was 500 ways of AWESOME! The scene where they show the dichotomy of 'Expectations' and 'Reality'...so perfect.

I wish I was touring right now.



Finished writing a song called 'Come Down', currently working on the 'Wonderland' song which I must be thinking about obsessively..thus the amazing dream last night about being lost in Wonderland....(One of the coolest dreams I've ever had, complete with white rabbits, Mad Hatters and silly riddles to solve.)

I hate driving...
When I finger-tap, it's just fluff...
I'm married to my acoustic, have affairs with my electric, and I'm seeing my piano on the side.

On a different note, I was glancing back and forth from my favorite snack to my digital camera and thought to myself...."This bowl of cereal has pretentious profile picture written all over it" I still love to play with my food....
