Live

Matt and I just finished one of the coolest weeks ever....three shows this last week. I think my favorite was the Celtic Bayou....followed by The Columbia City Theatre. We also played The Trabant Chai Lounge.....I was going to play the moo again(solo) on Friday, but since Matt and I had already qualified, they were really wanting to give everyone else a chance...or so I was told. So now its back to work for matt....which means not a lot of shows, but a lot of writing...finishing some songs. Starting new ones....getting ready for the show at the Moo on the 15th which will be interesting to say the least. Anyway, here are some pics of the Columbia City Theatre. One of the places we played this past week.

P.S. We are working on a myspace so that everyone will be able to hear some stuff...mostly live recordings....That's all I got..Bye for now

Mocha Moo 7-18-08

Well, Matt and I played the moo again and it was quite fun. We didn't win this week, but we still made it to the top 3.....and with all of the talent that performed.....it was quite the ego boost.
Tickets for the show on August 15th are $10.00 and are supposedly going to sell out fast. If you want to go, you can contact The Mocha Moo to secure your seat and come support Matt and I.

Bye friends.

BEST OF SHOW 7-11-08

Thank you to everyone who voted for Matt and I last Friday at the Moo! There were sooooooo many UNBELIEVABLE performers!!

Anyway, so Matt and I will be added to the list of the Best Of Show winners who will play on Friday August 15th....I believe the show begins at 7:30, $15 at the door, or $10 in advance.... It would be soooooo BOSS to see you all there!

My life changed yesterday. There wasn't a particular moment, or time. I mean, I can't say that at exactly noon, something happened to me. If anyone has kept up with my writing, you know that I moved to Seattle for one reason, music.

The writing on this site has incorporated everything that has happened to me since I've been here....and I must say, even with the bad parts, or painful times, it has been wonderful.
But for some time now, I have had the feeling of being lost. It's sort of the same way that you feel when you love someone, then they leave...its like..."What now?"

I used to have a struggle within myself....On one side, I was fighting for financial freedom.....wealth, success in that way. On the other side, I have the person that I really am. An artist. I, not once in my existence on this earth, have ever referred to myself as an artist. But yesterday, I said hello to myself as an artist, and my pursuit of musical success.

Not many people ever REALLY feel that they ever understand the reason for their existence.....but I'm telling you, it felt like the creator of the universe was holding me. It is my hope for humanity that everyone, at least once, can somehow feel that.

So, having said that, there are some things that I need to say to some people.....
TO MY PARENTS:
Thank you for raising me the way you did. Through all of the mistakes, you managed to raise a boy who feels free to follow his heart, without becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol. There's about 1% of parents that can say that.

TO MY FRIENDS: Thank you for understanding, and being willing to help me when I needed it. The encouragement means everything to me.

So anyway......I would say that right this second...Coldplay seems to be the biggest band on the planet...I LOVE their new album.....its kind of intimidating though. Whenever a band like that emerges with a great album...I always feel less than.
But not this time. This time, I choose to be challenged. I feel like Chris Martin and company have set the bar, and its up to me to rise above that. Or die trying.

So, with the highest respect to Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Johnny Buckland, and Will Champion...Dave Matthews and John Mayer....HERE I COME.
And, I think it only fitting to use a line from my favourite song "Lost" off of the new Coldplay album -Viva La Vida

-You might be a big fish in a little pond
Doesn't mean you've won
Cause along may come a bigger one
And you'll be lost

God, give me the wisdom to know that failure is inevitable, then grant me the courage to try again.

So there is this band...Flyleaf, and there's is a lyric in their song "All around me"

--"I feel you on my fingertips, my tongue dances behind my lips for you".

I just can't get it out of my head. So poetic, and it's one of those lyrics that I wish I would've written!!!! Damn you Flyleaf!!!!

As far as hard bands lead by a chick....Paramore is also pretty good. They're big song "Misery business" has quickly become one of my favorites.

And with me...I'm finishing and adding to some of the songs....matt is awol, I played with a bass player and he's pretty cool. I'm probably going to have to do the solo thing this summer so we'll see how that goes! I'm also thinking of doing some experimenting with loops in the studio so that will be fun......That's all for now, minions...
